Hi,

Just joined the board today and hoping you can help me. I am looking to use Flourocarbon line on a Heavy spinning outfit. Rod will be a custom Shikari SHX MBR 664 built as a spinning rod. reel will be a 2500 or 3000 Shimano Biomaster. This outfit will be used for "feel" presentations such as texas rigs, tubes, senkos, dropshotting with large baits. Hoping to find a 12 lb test flourocarbon line suitable for spinning reels. Or am I asking for the impossible?

thanks in advance for your help

Mike

Koyak,

I think I know you from somewhere  Well, I see this was posted back in April. Maybe you've gotten your reply by now? All the FC lines i've used in the 12lb test or over range are all a little wirey for spinning gear.

I hear great things about Sunline (http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageSUNLINE-SLFCS.html), but the stuff is pricey. I just got some in but put it straight onto my baitcasting gear. I will say that this stuff is thinner than traditional 12lb test line - or at least it feels that way.

I gave up on the idea of 12 lb test floro. using 12 lb floroclear and it's working well!

I think that that's a rather good meathod.

I too am a new comer to this message board. I have used Seaguar Carbon Pro on some of my spinning gear for a while and use it on some of my bait caster reels to flip and pitch around heavy brush piles and it works super. Carbon Pro seems more flexible than most floro. that I have tried, it also casts great........
