A few weeks back, TW was blowing out their remaining Phenix Ultra Swimbait Rods; presumably to make room for the new Phenix builds...
Well, I couldn't resist jumping all over one of the 790H's as a backup to my Lamiglas. I couldn't wait to put it to use, and since I live down here in Newport, I decided to throw a Curado 300dsv on and hit the salt
First trip, she pulled on some calico's and performed excellently in and around the kelp.
Trip #2 was to the deep structure to pull on some grumpy sandbass. Well, she didn't hang many, but she proved herself a worthy stick with this nice suprise...

Around 30# White Seabass on a 5" swimbait. I really leaned into this fish with the help of the 50# Ultracast Braid, and the Phenix rod didn't skip a beat.
I am now confident that she is ready for any green bass I may be lucky enough to tie into
Thanks Phenix, and Thanks Tackle Warehouse!
