can someone help me? my dad's birthday is coming up

hey everyone, I'm gonna be completely honest with you. I have pretty much no clue about fishing. But, my dad loves it and he's turning 60 soon. I know he goes (sorry if I get any of this wrong) seabass fishing, tuna fishing, and bottom fishing. I want to get him a really good reel and I can only spend up to $250. I'm sorry for coming into this place and having no idea on fishing, but I'm just asking for some help and some feedback. I would really appreciate it and I'm pretty sure my dad will too. For his type of fishing and your price range, I'd recommend this reel. (http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SHC47.html) Just be aware that reels(and rods too) are a personal choice and he may have other reels in mind so a gift certificate might be in order. If you think he's flexable, then that Calcutta will do the job.

And btw, I turned 66 last year and you're a thoughtful son for sure 8) .
