I want a longer rod for throwing jigs. I usually throw half once to 3/4 once football jigs and the occasional mop jig. im looking at the duckett micro magic 7 foot 6 rods and dont know if i should go with the heavy or extra heavy since there is no line rating or lure rating for these rods. does anyone have any experience with these two models?

after looking around a little more ive also began to consider the powell 765 rod being that its the same price as the duckett rod does any one know which is a better value?

It is the only Rod in his series I would consider. I have 2 of these and they are great. They have good backbone, sensitivty and a ton of guides more than any other rod I have and also medium tip. I have it pair with a ardent xs1000 and also a second with a f700. The only thing I don't like about the rod is that they are a little heavier than most, but for 89 bucks you can't go wrong. Some guys really don't like these rods for the color and rip them. I however like them. I like them just as much as some of my $300 and $400 rods because they have their place. They also handle deep crankbaits really well. Especially if you want to nose dip them and get a couple extra feet down on a lure.

Powell rods r ok. But if u r looking 4 a light rod, that is better than a powell go w/ the duckett. And yes i do have powell rods. but thats just my opinion.
