Hello!
Ive been looking at tacklewarehouse rods sections for days and i just cant figure out what kind of rod i shall buy. The action of the rod is the problem. Im not familiar with the actions.
I wanna use it only for softbaits like relax kopyto with head from 10-30grams (0.35oz to 1.05oz) , the fish will be upto 12lbs
Would anyone be so kind to help me out?
Tight lines from Norway!

I would call-up Tackle Warehouse and ask them. Also, give a call to St. Croix. They have a rod for every possible purpose. Once you get a length, weight, action and other criteria, it might help you chose from other companies.
Call them all up and get their recommendations.

Thats a tough one because it sounds like you need backbone with a soft tip to cast that light a lure. It sounds like you could eliminate baitcasting with the weight of the lure. There's other variables you need to consider first being the length. Will you be fishing from a boat or shore? I think that since you are from Norway. You may want to take the direct approach and go talk to the guys who do the type of fishing you are doing and see what they are using and reccommend. Than talk to a TW guy and see what rod is in your price range for the maturity level of the fishing you'll be doing. The good part about it is you have such a big selection to choose from you'll be able to find the pole for you.

Thanks for the answers , i will call up TW. The guys in Norway use the same gear as me , there are no pro bass fishing in Norway , and the rods are all mainstream stuff from Shimano , Abu , BFT, Daiwa ,and so on ..
Im using a 7" Shimano Speedmaster 7-21g with a Stradic 2500FC , works quite well , but id like a baitcaster rod made for the soul purpose of bass fishing , and there are none of them for this kind of fishing in Norway. Thanks again.

Depending on the baitcasting reel you are using, you can throw a 1/3 oz bait adequately far on a pretty standard 6 foot 6 inch medium heavy fast action rod.
The action of a rod determines how much of the rod can flex and bend. Here's a chart:

I would recommend the 6'6" Med Hvy Fast Action Daiwa Zillion Rod.

I have this rod, and when paired up with my Daiwa Alphas Ito 103-Ai, I can throw 0.25 ounce jigs easily. Of course, part of the reason is because I am using a Daiwa Alphas, which excels at throwing light baits. Then agian, Tackle Warehouse also does offer some reels that perform just as well as it.
For instance if you have the money, either the Daiwa Steez or the Shimano Core 50mg7 will perform just as well as my Alphas with light baits, if not better.

If you're looking for something cheaper, I suggest the Team Daiwa Advantage. I own one, and have found that as long as you swap out the stock spool ball bearings with higher quality ABEC-7 bearings, it will handle 0.25 ounce jigs just fine. This reel has also been pre-supertuned at the factory to reduce friction between the spool and the rest of the reel for even better handling of light baits.
