Me and my dad were fishing at this new lake on shore, on a four foot wide rock hoping to catch a few bass. After about half an hour I caught about two six inch bass and my dad had'nt caught anything, and then all of a sudden my dad start complaining about how he had some more weeds on his crankbait and and as he reeled it in, about a five pound bass (his biggest yet) jumped out of the water! He finally got it in and couldnt beleive it, as soon a he got the hook out of its mouth the thing slipped right out of his and fell right in the water before we could weigh it or take a picture. Man was it horrible, and then on top of that we got kicked out of the spot because we were fishing a private lake without permission! No one believed it either, they thought it was just another fish story.

Similar thing happend to me before in a lake just under the upper peninsula in hawks MI. i was fishing right off a drop off using bout a 4 inch bluegill as bait cast it out and was using a crankbait on my other pole.About 5 minutes later say my pole bending so set the hook, it was about a 3 minute fight id say and right when i had it up to the boat his head popped up and I brought about half his body up it was the biggest largemouth i wouldve ever caught then the dang thing fell off not even a picture......:(. not sure but i would guess about 6-7 pounds.
