I have a 6'6" med action Abu Garcia Vendetta Rod and was wondering if you guys thought it is a good rod for using jigs. Any suggestions or comments would be great!

I have 2 vendetta rods. A 6' 6" med and a 6' 10" mh. I like these rods very much but i feel they are a little stiffer than their rated action. With that being said I would say that your med action will work ok with small finesse jigs using 12 -15 fluro. I would prefer a longer heavier action rod for jigs 1/2 oz. and larger. A 6' 10" mh for fishing rocks and wood cover and a 7' or longer heavy for flipping grass.

They don't offer a 6'10" rod in the Vendetta series.

I use a 7' rod for flipping docks and when accuracy is a must. I go up to a 7'3" or 7'6" when I'm dragging a football deep water.

That said, use what's comfortable. Some guys won't flip with any shorter than 7'10" while some like shorter rods.

When using lighter action rods, be sure to use a line with little to no stretch. The shorter rods provide less leverage than a longer rod would and therefore will require more energy to set the hook.

Again, use what feels good.

You are right. I should of said 6' 9" thanks for pointing that out.
