Caught a nice 8LB LMB last yesterday at Lopez.

Does anyone believe the lunar period has an effect on fishing? I noticed from my records that most of my big fish were caught on ideal lunar periods.

Hmmm, I havent paid much attention to lunar cycles but I have noticed significantly better fishing during times of low or dropping atmospheric pressure i.e. just before clouds or storms move in. Also, fishing seems to be good during periods of overcast after the front has passed.

What makes an ideal lunar period? A full moon? Is this farmers almanac info?

Well, after Sunday I'm not a believer in the lunar cycle having an effect on fishing. In a few months when it starts to rain we will be able to try your theory about the effects of weather and the preasure changes.

It appears that on 9/7 when I caught this 8lb LMB they had stocked the lake with 1800lbs of trout. I wonder if this had an affect on the fishing.

They just stocked the lake with another 6,000 lbs. The swimbait bite is sure to turn on soon.
