Went to the ramp last Thursday. Was behind a guy who backed his rig down the ramp, stopped with the prop at the water's edge, and proceeded to get ready. I mean, EVERYTHING! He even went to the passenger's side and got dressed. Got all his gear ready and finally after 15 minutes of this he finally launched. I'm sure he was a nice guy, but boy he sure was clueless about ramp etiquette and manners.
This particular ramp is a "free" ramp on the Corps lake that I fish and this type of behavior is not uncommon. I've had em block the ramp unloading AND loading. I don't even go there during the ski season.
Would you say anything?

What I've done on a number of occasions is approach the person and start up a conversation with a line like: "Your first time taking the boat out? or Can I give you a hand?" Then I'll mention that most guys prep while waiting to launch to shorten their time on the ramp. I'll let it go at that. Can't say if it's done any good, but I think it's a better alternative to yelling and starting an argument.
