I took the first day of summer off and tried Matt's cow-pond again. Caught two dinks and had a bigger(?) one on in his smaller pond but due to where I had to stand on the bank of the smaller one, I couldn't get a good enough hookset to keep it on.
Fished the bigger one for an hour with no bites: spinnerbait, cr/bait, swimbait, Paca Craw, and a soft-plastic jerkbait didn't draw any. I got down the pond near a wire fence that comes out into the water(I caught a 5 lber there recently.) for about 30' and pitched a black/blue Paca Craw. T-rigged next to it and got bit---finally. It was a hard fighting 4 lb, 6 ozer. She tore off one pincher but she was worth it.
