Well I finally purchased a left hand Curado 101d and I think this is the future for me. In the past with a RH reel I would switch hands to cast and reel. The lefty does feel different, but it was easy to get comfortable with plus the Curado 100 series is an excellent reel. I noticed that I do more single handed casting with the lefty, I guess with a RH reel I use both hands often. Also when fighting a fish the cranking is contributing to the handling of the rod more then I had previously realized. My left is not as coordinated as my right so its contribution was slightly clumsy at first. Aft a few hours and a few fish I felt fairly competent.

The main benefit is handling the rod with my dominate hand, which is awesome. Its like writing with each hand, your dominate is always better. I used to fish all my jigs and baits that required input to net an action with a spinning setup. Now it feels like I'm pointing with my index finger on my right hand, I literally can make the bait do things that I could not do before without switching hands. The time wasted before switching hands is eliminated. I think in the future we will see an increase in the use of LH reels. Also it did not have any affect on me switching from right to left setups. It’s like riding a bike you really don't forget how.
