The results for the Tri-Valley tournament at Lopez on 8/4?
Here is the story from the tribune.
Tri Valley Bass Tournament
A calculated risk paid dividends for a father and son team in the final regular season Tri Valley Bass Tournament at Lopez Lake.
After dumping three fish prior to the midday weigh-in things got a bit dicey.
The Roses, son Jeff of Oceano, and his dad, Craig, from Bakersfield, gambled that they could improve upon a 9.78-pound three-fish weight. When Jeff caught a 3.60-pounder on his first afternoon cast the team’s outlook was golden. But two hours without a catch removed the glow.
“We hooked four fish but boated only three in the afternoon,” the 29-year-old said. The risk takers won their second test of the year by 2.16 pounds.
Anchoring the team’s six-fish bag weight of 18.99 pounds was a 4.75- pounder caught by Craig, 59.
Big fish honors went to Matt Short, 15, of Templeton.
“He worked and worked before finally pulling a 5.86-pounder out of a brush tangle,” his dad, Jay, reported.
Santa Marians Danny Knotts and Skeeter Moore earned anglers of the year crowns by a margin of 16 points. They compiled 411 points with six top four tourney placings including two wins.
