I "beat feet" as dark clouds rolled in at about 3PM after starting at 11AM. Clear water, windy, mid-to-high 90s with some cloud cover.
Tried a buzzbait, a Senko, a Paca Craw, and Matt's Baby Bass swimbait. Only the last two caught Bass for me.
The first Bass bit the BB but it was only a 1.9 lber so no pics. A 2.5 lber picked up the PC as I pitched it(T-rigged) next to some lilly pads. I had 2 or 3 other PC bites but all they did was bite a pincher off. I had another 3 lber(?) on but she threw the BB.
Then later(2:30pm?),I was near some old tree laydowns in about 12' of water and the top limbs are just 2' under the surface. I pitched Matt's BB past the laydown and reeled it back. As I saw it just 2 or 3' from the boat, I lifted it over one of the limbs and a nice 5 lb Bass rolled over the limb and grabbed the BB right in front of me. That Bass wanted that bait badly as the bait wasn't doing anything(no tail movement ), but just being lifted so as to not snag the limb. Think about that......
Look's like bad weather is headed our way so I left for home right after that Bass.
