2 part question:
1, I like to carolina rig spider grubs but have a problem with them sliding down the hook. I mainly use Owner riggin' hooks, 1/0, 2/0. any alternative would be great except glue. right now I'm thinking of the new Twistlock hook by owner, the lightweight, straight shank one. keep in mind this is a smallmouth deal for me and I'm usually throwing a 8 or 10 # leader... speaking of leaders...
2. would like to keep a couple of spools of Floro leader in the boat for carolina rigs. read some about a triple fish leader spool(25yards) or seagar. again mainly 8 or 10 # test. does TW have a leader spool anywhere?

thanks for any help...

Hello Iceman,

This has frustrated many of us for years and Reaction Innovations have made an awesome product to help ease the frustration. The BMF Barb designed for the BMF hook.

This barb may be a bit big for the light wire hooks you have been using and if that is the case take a look at the Robo worm Rebarb hook.

This hook comes pre-rigged with the barb and comes in light and medium wire straight shank hooks.

One thing you can try is take some 80 lbs Mono, and after your spider/hula is rigged on the hook, run the 80 thru the bait, thru the eye of the hook, and out the other side of the bait. Trim and fish. You can swing all day and the head of the bait wont slide off the hook.

Thanks JasonR, I would have never thought of that. The deal I was going to suggest is purchase some of those really small rubber bands, and wrap one good and snugg on the hook and roll it up underneath the spider.
