I am looking to get the 7'2" for the ***Secret, cant say**** and the 7' for light texas rig and shakey heads. I think a 2500 sized Shimano would fit just fine on there.

Hey Iceman, JasonR is on the money with the Shimano recommendation. They have some very well made spinning reels to offer. I have two of the newer Stradic reels in the 3000 size. It casts like pouring water. They also have a model called the Saros. It is for slightly lighter applications. The Stradic is $159.00, and the Saros is $149.00. If thats not what you want to spend, just take a look at Shimano's other lines of spinning, they are well built
and resonably priced. Good luck.

In my opinion the best drop shot rod made by daiwa is the Team Daiwa X drop shot spinning. It hass unbelieveable sensitivity anddd the tip of the rod is verry softt butt it has a great back bone. I have a Shimano 1500 on my TD X rod for drop shot and shaky heads....What the 2 people above me saidd is pretty accurate.. Hope thiss helpssss....

ok well if your looking for something a little bit stronger and want to stick with daiwa. then try the Team Daiwa Light and Tough Drop Shot Rod in 7-2...Its long and its alot stronger then the Team Daiwa X...I use the Light and Tough Drop shot for heavy drop shotting in deep water with big weights..I also use it for Spider Jigs, Finnesse Jigs and you can even use it for senkos. If you have any other questions please ask.Hope this helps........
