Same weather as yesterday at the swamp pond. Threw the Barely Legal Vixen t/w and caught that dink from the shore. I missed three bigger ones yesterday and found out why today.
The reel was an old Daiwa TDZ that I put on my rod because it had braid on it and I wanted braid for the Vixen and a new frog bait I had. I hooked a bigger Bass later today on the frog and........there was no drag :confused: . Pulling the line by hand, it felt OK but 4 different times, I could not set the hook because of the 'bad'/worn out drag wawhers. That dink was no problem but it took me loosing 4 big(?) Bass for me to realize what was happening---duh!
The second Bass today was 2.5 lber, 19" and it hit in 12" of water when I pitched a 1/2oz, brown and orange PJ jig with a Joe S's trailer on it. I had dunked it in CB's HS too. I would have had a cuople of more pics of that 2 lber but my camera battery went on the 'fritz' :(
