Would a musky rod designed for throwing big crankbaits make a good swimbait rod? I'm thinking yes since musky fisherman throw swimbaits as well, but I'm new to swimbaits and thought I would ask those who are experienced.

It should generally have the same action as a swimbait rod and should handle it. I use a musky rod for mine.

If you think you are getting more tired throwing your swimbaits with that rod than you should be or you are not hooking up, don't use it. That's the simple answer.

I use a musky rod for swimbaits if you going with large ones try a slingeblade St Croix. Has perfect action.
