gonna try it next weekend. rigged up with braid and a 25lb flouro leader. 1/2 oz. weight, 5/0 hook and a zoom magnum finesse worm. looked great in the swimming pool. i'll let you know what happens.

In MN we do that often along the outside weedlines. Try using a craw, like a Berkley Chigger or a Baby Paca Craw (something bulky) and rig it weedless with a sharp straight shank hook and skinny weight. Unless you are in crystal clear water, don't worry about using a fluorocarbon leader, a fish won't see the braid in all the thick cover and it will save you some fish. Just be careful if you are using less that 50# braid, if you set the hook to hard, it will break.

I have had some success with seaguar invisx 15#, 3/0 gamagatsu ewg hook most of the time i use zoom trick worms, just this past week i caught 11 largemouth out of a farm pond using this set up, theres alot of muck and vegetation in this pond but the fish are huge, 9 out of the 11 were over 4 lb up to 8lb, its not really a beefy set up like a jig rod or anything but it works well. if the pond was cleaner i would probably drop down around 10lb flouro, oh as far as the drop shot weight 1/4 oz most of the time never went higher than 3/8
