I've been skunking out at the swamp pond for the last few trips but I tried it again today. Warm(70 degrees), cloudy and windy and I had not fished here in a couple of weeks
I caught a dink from the shore on a Baby Paca Craw and then missed the hookset on a wacky-rigged Senko on about 1.5(?) lber right after putting the boat in.
About an hour later, I got a pick-up on a T-rigged Long Ika. Had to go after it because it had me snarled up in something on the bottom. I saw it and it was about 2(?) lbs but I could not get it loose so I broke it off.
Another hour goes by with no bites until I started throwing Matt's new Baby Trout. I found I have to reel this bait really slowly but when I do, it has great "tail action". On the forth or fifth cast, I felt the lightest of bumps and set the hook in a 1.8 lber. Now that's a small Bass but it was the biggest I landed today plus, it would have been a tournament keeper.
