Had a huge frog bite this Fall up here in New England. At times nearly an automatic hit but for the life of me neither I nor my partner could sink the hook . Tried everything . Help !

Different frog...softer rod..wait abit longer?

Quick story..
Had a tournament ..I like to throw the cheap snagproof frog on a spin rod with 60lb braid since watching a guy in our club years ago kick all our behinds doing it

Had multiple setups with frogs since this was one of my main ways of catching them on this river..right off the bat i get blasted, set the hook and the frog comes wizing past my head..hmmm, doesnt happen that much anymore

Next cast samething...next cast same thing..5 casts in a row, same thing!!?? So this setup was a new setup to me and abit stiffer than my usual setup...switched to old rod/reel setup which was a softer rod action and never missed another fish

Sometimes, the most simple or subtle change can have the biggest impact! Keep throwing! Good luck out there

I use pre-rigged frogs..primarily Booyah and Live Target. ... pretty much weedless.
Unfortunately the way my friend and I fish them, also fishless.
Hope to use billfish’s advice with an old fiberglass rod.

Delay the hookset. Hard to do but a two or three second delay will help. Also, bend open hooks a few degrees and sharpen them.
